How to Overcome Sales Anxiety & Gain Sales Confidence

Ask a CRO with Chief Revenue Officer Michelle Terpstra

Before you can sell the way you ought to, confidence must come first. It's the foundation everything else builds on. That sales confidence spills over into everything - your relationships, your personal growth, all of it.

So let's talk about conquering your sales fears and becoming more confident.

Many of us are in denial about the value we bring to the table. You've got something incredible to offer the right person. It's not an option; it's your duty to get out there and sell it. If you don't, you're not helping anyone - including yourself.

Comparison is a real confidence killer. It's tempting to measure yourself against others, but it rarely does any good. Instead, focus on your unique strengths and what you bring to the table.

Lastly, the fear of outreach. Putting yourself out there can be scary, but it's necessary for growth.

Of course, there are other roadblocks:

  • Fear of rejection

  • Imposter syndrome

That nasty voice in your head questioning if you can really do this, if you can deliver results, if you're worthy of the fee you're charging.

Recognizing these fears is the first step to overcoming them. Your confidence will grow with each sales call. And before you know it, you’ll be selling like a natural. You might even close your discovery calls at 80%.
